The short answer is NO (unless you are very careful – read on). They are often run by con-artists using fake photos submitted to agencies and the subject may not even know it’s being used in this way! These people DO NOT play by the same rules or have the same scruples as you and me!

The long answer is that people in other parts of the world often do not have the same ‘Western’ values! Yes I said it… whilst there are scams and con-artists everywhere there is no doubt they are far more prevalent where Christianity has not permeated culture – which unfortunately leads to poverty brought on by corrupt governments and then desperation – and finally the scammer feels justified since they consider Westerners privileged – which they are! (We should thank God every day for our freedom).

Single wealthy older men

This is not to say that Christians are somehow better than everyone else – but it’s simply a fact that this is the case. Wherever there is socialism and poverty you will find desperate people trying to help their families (very understandably) and they will sometimes ‘work’ on single wealthy older men – especially those who have no family.

Never give out financial details / bank or card or send money for ANYTHING!

Of course amongst all these scammers are the genuine people. So if you if are going to do this NEVER GVE YOUR FINANCIAL DETAILS OR CARDS OR ANY PROMISE OF MONEY to them. Sometimes the scam will last several years to lull the person into a false sense of security – and they may not even be the woman they appear to be online (they may be a man in an office using a fake photo!).

This applies to my Christian dating website too where many Asians join and we have had many successful Asian marriages. But beware!
